LORD HOWE ISLAND
~ Welcome ~
G’day! We are so stoked you’ve landed on our website, we hope you find some inspiration to discover your inner fish and better yet help us live for this big blue planet. Liv For The Sea was founded in 2017 with a dream to connect people to the sea. It began as visual inspiration via social media and we are now lucky enough to share some of our favourite places in the world with like minded ocean enthusiasts. We aren’t just about freediving. Our experiences and values at heart are driven to build strong, courageous and safe water dwellers that carry what they learn with us into their everyday lives.
Liv For The Sea follows a seasonal shift with the sun and the winds. We spend our Australian summer months on one of the most enchanting islands in the world, Lord Howe Island in New South Wales. Here we offer a range of ocean experiences from privately guided snorkel adventures to group expeditions and kids mermaid classes. Once the water temperatures cool down in the Tasman Sea Liv For The Sea closes shop for the winter and heads west to Nyinggulu Reef in Western Australia. Here we host our signature Live-aboard Expeditions that we’ve been running since 2020. This is our winter home where we reconnect with the humpback whales and thriving coral reef ecosystem. We hope to meet you on the sea one day!
WHAT IS FREEDIVING…
Exploring underwater on a single breath
A way to learn more about yourself and the marine world
A mental and physical challenge that we are all capable of as humans
A sport that requires a stillness of the mind in order to succeed
A way to connect closer with ocean creatures
A sport that transfers healthy habits into your everyday life
Upcoming Expeditions 2025
Have you ever dreamt of exploring the marine world on a single breath? Whether you come from the sea or have always wanted to journey into it, our expeditions are built for you. We’re focusing on connection, ocean awareness and experience to give you jam packed days in two World Heritage listed destinations in Australia. We want you to walk away feeling inspired & enlightened, with a new found appreciation for the elements beneath the sea.
We know freediving can be a little intimidating, which is why we’re providing you with a safe & relaxed environment to learn, grow and dive head first with us. Your expedition is scheduled around completing your Level 1 or 2 Freediver Course, involving elements of theory, practical breathing exercises, confined water training and open water line diving. Alongside tapping into your inner fish, you’ll connect with likeminded individuals, have the opportunity to explore a new environment and tune into your adventurer!
